Who Is Shaun T?
INSANITY creator Shaun T. was raised in Camden, New Jersey and grew up playing football, baseball and track. He attended Rowan University, where he received his BS in Sports Science and minored in Theater/Dance. Shaun T’s career began as a health and fitness specialist/personal trainer and health program manager at Wyeth, a multi-national pharmaceutical company. He also worked at a number of fitness chains, including Equinox Fitness. Shaun began dancing in college, when, at 21, he was required to teach an aerobics class as a part of his Sports Science degree and became an aerobics instructor. I just turned 20 this month and I am a university student. I have always considered myself to be in very good physical shape. I dance every day of the week. I don’t even recognize this body—I lost 3 inches around my waist, I never thought it was possible for my stomach to be this flat, be this tiny. Before INSANITY I was wearing a size 6. I was so happy that I could squeeze myself into a size 6. And now my size-6 jeans are like falling off—now you can’t keep the clothes on me.

I heard about INSANITY from a friend of mine. In fact, I was hoping to get back to the shape I was in before I got married or the shape I was in when I was playing varsity soccer and college intramural sports. So I ordered it and when I got it in the mail, I was really excited to get started.
I was really nervous too because I had heard it was a really, really hard program, and I knew this would probably give me the results that I wanted. I do have to say that Shaun T was a huge help. This program works if you follow it. It’s not easy, but it works! You have to be in decent, not great, shape, and follow the warnings about injuries and other potential health problems because it is a serious workout.Don’t worry about keeping up with the folks on the video because NONE of them do all of the routines to completion on any of the DVDs. You do your best at YOUR pace but it has to be your BEST. It never gets easier because as you get more conditioned, you do more repetitions. You must do the Fit Test because you WILL see improvements and the test won’t lie and it will keep you motivated.
Remember to continually push through. One more rep, one more second, just a little further than you think you can. Don’t be foolish, recognize your limitations, but don’t confuse your body’s need for rest with your mind’s tendency to quit too soon.
